Dr. Manmohan Singh is an eminent Indian economist and politician who served as the 13th Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014. Born on September 26, 1932, in Gah, which is now in Pakistan, he became India’s first Sikh Prime Minister and held office for two consecutive terms, making him one of the longest-serving PMs in India's history.

A respected economist, Dr. Singh played a crucial role in India's economic liberalization. As Finance Minister in the early 1990s, he implemented transformative reforms that shifted India from a closed, socialist economy to a more liberalized, global economy. These reforms helped India achieve rapid growth, reduced poverty, and expanded the middle class. His famous statement, “No power on earth can stop an idea whose time has come,” became symbolic of the new economic era in India.

During his tenure as Prime Minister, India saw significant growth, but his government also faced challenges, including inflation, corruption scandals, and criticisms of policy paralysis in his second term.
